Used correctly, coloured contacts can be a great way of changing up your look. Here are some simple tips to follow when using contact lenses.
Tip #1 - Always wash your hands and wrists before putting in or taking out a contact lens, this should never be forgotten!
Tip #2 - Have a solution on hand to drop onto the contact lens to rinse it, ensuring there are no bits of dust of dirt trapped inside. I use eyecasions-multi purpose solution.
Tip #3 - To make sure there is definitely no dirt inside the contact lens, hold it up to the light and if it's clear and has no dots or marks, then it's clean and ready to put in.
Tip #4 - Place your contact lens in the bottom half of your eye while looking forwards into a mirror, then look downwards and the contact lens should readjust itself as you blink. If your eye hurts around a minute after inserting the contact lens, take it out and rinse it again. If it still hurts after this, it may be that you have your contact lenses the wrong way around.
Tip #5 - Your contact case should have a letter R to correspond to the correct right and left lenses. Always put your right contact lens in this part to stop the spread of infection.
Tip #6 - Make sure you have eye drops on hand when you're wearing contact lenses out and about.
Tip #7 - I would strongly advise you not to wear your contact lenses for more than 6 hours if they are not prescribed. This can lead to issues with the health of your eyes.
Tip #8 - If you haven't worn your contacts for a week or more, rinse out the solution in the case and fill it with a new dose of solution to keep your contacts clean.
My lenses are from desiolenses. Here is a look at my lenses and the products I use to clean them.
