A well tailored outfit that fits the body like a glove is the perfect way to create a chic expensive look. In this post I'm going to tell you an easy trick to downsizing a garment without having to use the sewing machine.
Im always buying clothes in charity shops for many reasons. Its cheap, helps out a good cause and is a form of up-cycling. One of the downsides is that when you find something you really like, it might not be your size and its a one off so you cant ask for the size below.
I feel im quite confident on the sewing machine so I normally pick the item up anyway but this time I wanted to wear a dress for the next day and when i tried sewing it the material was too thick.

So I put the dress on inside out and pinned it where it needed to be adjusted too. Instead of using usual sewing pins however i exchanged them for safety pins which went all the way up so that when i turned the dress back the right way round it now fit perfectly to my size. So there we go if you need to really quickly adjust a dress turn it inside out while wearing it and safety pin it to the size you want!
You may need someone to help you with this and it will work better on a thicker material. Good luck.
P.S A belt can also downsize your dress slightly and cinch in your waist.
