I for one am fed up of hearing people going on and on about the damaging effects of waist training. Yes an excisive amount of it could be potentially harmful but if done correctly it can have wonderful results for both your confidence, your posture and your waist. Waist cinchers promoted by the likes of Kylie Jenner and the rest of the Kardashian clang (minus rob) give immediate but not permanent results. They essentially are the same as spanx only for your waist. The moment you take it off your body will go back to normal and no amount of wearing it will change that. Steel bone corsets such as the one I am wearing in the picture do have a degree of power to alter the shape of your body. This is done by slowly working up the amount of time spent wearing one and lacing the back up to your preferred size. It is recommended that initially you only wear your corset for 3 hours per day. After about a week you can build this up the more you feel comfortable wearing a corset. Waist training is also said to help those trying to diet and can help you lose weight. In a sense this is true because the amount of food you can eat while wearing one is limited however listen to your body while wearing your corset and do not over eat. This will cause pains and cramps and if you are in this situation take your corset off. Overall if you do not over wear or over-tighten your corset then it can have a really positive effect on your body and confidence. Just remember to know your limits!
