My new project is to make a new unique garment using 3 old pieces of clothing. These are the items I started with.

I began by sketching my garments and then placing them onto the mannequin and pinning them in different ways.

My primary artists who inspired me were luflux. There unique patchwork and pastel filled designs really caught my eye. I love the way they chose to style the models with there hair being almost like cotton candy and fitting well into the colour palette of the designs as well using a beige background which made there designs stand out even more.

I chose to make my black and white t-shirt into a weave and then pinned this on the mannequin in different places to see where it would be best to put onto my design. Through making this weave I choose my secondary artist research to be based on WWF as the print on the t-shirt was a panda and Twiggy as the weave is black and white and I could use the way she was styled for when I present my design.

I like the idea of using the print from the WWF logo and trying to mix 2 important causes-the economic situation of our world and the affect its having on our animals. I decided it would be perfect as a stencil to use for paper cut as I was inspired by luflux and there lazer cut designs. I knew this would be too difficult on the fabric I had chosen so I was on the look out for a plastic which would be easy enough to cut into while still holding its shape. I found this beautiful plain pink plastic at work which I then cut a number of WWF logo signs into. I placed this in different ways on the mannequin and decided the best way for it to placed was at the bottom of the skirt. I also knitted the plastic with massive knitting needles which i added underneath the cut outs.
