A gorgeous summer tan is a must have, here are some tips on how to get one and keep it for longer.
Exfoliate-If you don't exfoliate before you start tanning then you are simply tanning dead skin which will quickly flake off, along with your tan. A great natural exfoliate is honey and salt. Mix the two together and rub in circular motions all over your body. The formula is also gentle enough for your face.
Sunscreen-Applying the right amount of sunscreen will not prevent you for getting tanned. In fact there are some sunscreens that actually have tan activating ingredients in, simply look on the bottle. Remember you also need to reapply sunscreen throughout the day so you avoid getting burnt. Getting burnt will lead to your skin pealing and once again that'll mean losing your tan. A good tip for applying sunscreen to your face is to apply more sunscreen just under your eyes. If you do this under your eyes will be more pale then the rest of your face which will get you a youthful awaken look.

After-sun-After sun is a great way of locking in your tan and cooling down your skin after a long day in the sun. Looking for an after-sun that says it has a tan locking formula will also help your tan last.

Coco-butter-Coco-butter is a great cheap way to lock in your tan and smells delicious too.
Wearing white-Wearing white and other light items of clothing can really give the illusion that you are more tanned then you actually are due to the contrast.

Don't over overexpose yourself to UV rays-Overexposing yourself will not cause you to get that great tan you so desire but will leave you burnt and your skin peeling. Not a good look!

Waxing-Waxing after getting that perfect tan can cause you to rip of some of your beautifully tanned skin. To avoid this happening apply baby powder to your skin before applying the wax which will cause the wax to only stick to your hair.
Taking photos using natural light-Lastly as a tip for making yourself look the most tanned in photos make sure you use natural light. Flash can cause you to look more pale especially if you are wearing a foundation that has SPF in it. When using natural light make sure the sunlight is not directly hitting your whole body. Make sure the sun is either nearly directly above you or coming from behind. This will also light you up and give you a great glow.
